This past weekend was All-Region Honor Band auditions and Solo and Ensemble Festival at Desert Vista High School. Our students did an outstanding job representing our school.
We had TEN band students who made the All- Region Honor Band this year!! This is by far the most students that will represent Boulder Creek in this prestigious group. There were also three students who have been selected as alternates. Please help in congratulating the following students on this great accomplishment.
Kira Assad
Logan Clark
Ryan Connolly
Holly Haas
Caterina Lake
Robert Mattix
Ilyssa Simons
Adam Soper
Randy Thomas
Marica Whittemore
Alternates:
Craig Franzmeier
Danielle Lackey
Michael Rader
Boulder Creek also had a great showing at the Solo and Ensemble Festival. Six groups or individuals received a SUPERIOR RATING and ten groups or individuals received EXCELLENT RATINGS!!
It was a great weekend to be a Boulder Creek band member. I am very proud to be the director of these fine young musicians.

The Boulder Creek Jaguar Pride Marching Band traveled to Prescott on Saturday, October 3rd to participate in the Mile High Marching Invitational at Prescott High School and represented Boulder Creek very well. The band received an "Excellent" rating along with a special award for outstanding visual performance! This qualifies the band for the Arizona State Marching Festival in November. This is extra special since it is the bands first festival performing as a division 2 band. Congratulations on your OUTSTANDING performance Jaguar Pride!

Recently one of our own, Ryan Connolly, had the amazing opportunity of being able to attend the Bands of America Summer Symposium in Normal, Illinois, a camp that attracts thousands of music students and band directors from across the country. He attended the leadership weekend (with Dr. Tim who is running the leadership conference that's coming up!!) and participated in the marching band track at the camp. At the end of the week they have one of the most celebrated drum corps shows of the season, where the marching band campers get to perform on the field with the resident drum corps for the week.
This morning, DCI posted an article and video on the experience... check it out!
